Our Whare Karakia (Church) has been around since the early 1920’s of which it has seen many people come and go, used for many kinds of services and even Christened many many children while being the focal point of congregation for the small community of Ripia.
Looked after by the whānau of Ripia Marae, Peterehema (Bethlehem) is the small Church that after being there for many people is now in need of our help to restore and refurbish her with a bit of TLC.
At present the church needs funds to help restore it to a useable and safe condition. With the likes of unstable foundations, wood-rot or bora, the need for new mechanisms for the windows, funrniture, a lick of paint and even the relocation of the door to allow Tūpapaku (decased/caskets) to get into the Church, these are some significant costs that we need help fundraising for – so we need your help.
We are holding a $12.00 Hangi fundraiser and would love your support if your in and around the Te Kopuru area which would assist in helping us restore and refurbish our beautiful Whare Karakia – Peterehema to be useable for the community again.
Don’t worry because COVID restrictions still apply and we will make sure its safe to do so on the Saturday, 11th December 2021 when you pick up your Hangi and additional combo kai bits and pieces.
All you have to do is order below and make payment. Once you’ve done that, you can either email us: email@example.com a screenshot proof of payment or make sure your payment is in by Tuesday, 7th December 2021 ready for pick up.
In advanced, we want to thank you for your contribution and support. For more information around this kaupapa and project, please call the Whakahaere of the Whare Karakia Project: Allie Ripia on 0800 174 742.
Ngā manaakitanga o te runga rawa i runga i tātou katoa… Amene.
