AGM Time…

One of the hardest things sometimes is to adapt to change after having a strong whanau who have continued to battle through the years to get the Marae up and ready before the late Uncle Rob Sarich passed. His guidance in the other realm and subtle signs in this world show is we can still depend on his overall guidance to support the Trustees and Marae to get to where it is.

Its because of these footprints that will forever be left in the soil and whenua of Ripia Marae that icons like Uncle Rob and many whanau who have been part of the Ripia Marae rebuild will forever be remebered.

This weekend Friday 24th to Sunday 26th July 2020 is the dawn of a new Marae Committee. The former Marae Committee steps down and hands over the operational reigns to a new roopu of youngin’s at AGM for Sunday 26th July 2020 at Ripia Marae.

A huge congratulations to the new Marae Committee members who took office: Moira Mae (Madam Chair), Tim Tipene (Mister Secretary), Kelly Milich (Madam Treasurer) and Louisa Kingi (Madam Deputy Chair)

Maintaining and upholding the tikanga and “Ripia Way” is the biggest task for this new committee while bridging and bringing the Marae into the technological phase of the century.

However, much of the journey for our piece of paradise would not have happened without those who have been there for the hard journey of 15 years, and further the 20 (plus) years prior to that. Therefore an acknwoledgement goes out to all the former committee members who rightfully take up their turanga (roles) as Trustees, Kaitiakitanga of the Marae and Rule makers 🙂

Ki nga Tarahiti Matua o te Marae, me mihi rangatira ki a koutou ma mo o koutou korowai manaakitanga, korowai aroha me nga mahi rangatira mo to tatou marae nei.

Tena koutou, tena koutou, tena koutou katoa!
